A Night To Remember In Kowloon Bay!

Shaheen's first Hard Rock Hockey training started yesterday with a good turn-up. The cement surface slow down the ball in rolling which reminded our players to pay more attention in ball control and this new ground training could help us in small group passing, one on one, quick reflections and most important is team-work. Some very good feedback from the players and of course, some negative such as location and shower. But most important is to improve players fitness and skills.

Question was thrown out why the Hong Kong Hockey Association didn't send our national team for the Olympic Qualifying in Japan earlier this year. FIH sent an invitation to HK after a country withdraw but the FIH's sincerity was neglected by a few of our council members and surely we missed the greatest chance to participate even in the qualifying for the Olympic. Niall Steal The Winner Goal For GB in Macau
Great Britain men overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat New Zealand in the first of two training matches against the Blacksticks.

Ben Collier put the Kiwis up within 6 minutes and Britain were unable to take advantage of any of their chances leaving the score 1-0 at half-time.

Ashley Jackson evened the score just after half time with a penalty corner and Scot Niall Stott netted the winner with a straight strike from the middle of the D in the last minute of the game.

Head Coach Jason Lee said "We did quite well in the second half despite an appalling first half, but of course, the result counts for nothing.  We took the first 35 minutes to get used to the conditions.  This is our first match here and playing is a much different situation to training."

Shaheen B stay in 3rd Div.!

A draw will keep them in 3rd Div., but Shaheen Men's B team fight hard to win the last game of the season with pride. A goal by Francis drove the team into high energy before going into half time break. But HKFC equalized early in the second half and this sudden shock surprised our boys. But their never gave up spirit force them to go for a win and by pushing the attacking line upfront, they force over five penalty corners in ten minutes. Even they couldn't score any, their never give up  attitude was fully appreciate by their fans. In the last five minutes, skipper Kenneth surprisingly received a lose ball in the penalty spot and scored. The win will surely keep them remain in the 3rd division.

Focus + Trust + Team-Work + Support = Success of Winning.

With ten minutes of game start before yesterday's important game against second placed Valley A, our Men's A team was worrying! Swalikh, Mustafa, Leong & Kit still not arrive. Leong & Kit arrived just 3 minutes before the game start because of ferries delay from Macau while Mustafa and Swalikh just finishes work also arrived just a minute before the whistle blow.

But their focus tells everything. All players understand that a win from the game will advance them to a clear 12 points lead; this will help us to claim back the Premier League Title. With two goals from skipper Asghar (Sanachi) in each half secured the game. While Farooq, Akbar (Amo), Swalikh, Samuel, Kit and Mustafa formed a wall that keeps all Valley attack at bay. Howard also made a great save in the early second half, which might allow Valley to equalize. Up front, Leong, Lu Peng, William, Frankie and Francis keep Valley's defense worried and busy.

But the most talked after the game was William 'Greatest Miss of the Century'. Lu Peng dribble passed 3 Valley's defender and passed to William from the right but he pushed the ball 3 yard away from the post which might be easier to score then to miss.
