The Shaheen Hockey Invitational Tournament will be held on 27-28 June 2015. The first day will be for ladies and the second will be for mens. Stay tune for more information.

Over 100 Attended Christmas Party and Games

Almost all members of Shaheen came on Sunday (20th) for our Christmas party and games, there were also ex-Shaheen players came for a game of Shaheen Old Boys v New Boys. Games also include Frankie's Team v Silas's team, Ladies All Stars v Men's B & C All Stars and of course, there were also games for Mini Shaheen v Parents. We thanks to those parents who contribute their time in preparing food for the day which was very appreciated by everyone.

Christmas Party on 20th Dec (Sunday)!

Shaheen will host our Christmas Party again this year! It will be on 20th Dec., (Sunday) from 12.30pm-6pm at King's Park. Program will include hockey matches, games, lucky draw, entertainment with food and drinks served during the whole party. Shaheen Football Team Formed!

After some hard work by Frankie Lau, finally Shaheen formed a football team and now participated in district league. Over the weekend, Mini Shaheen participated in the Valley Mini Hockey tournament at Happy Valley. This year we had 3 teams took part which is Under 12, Under 10 and Under 8. Result was U12 6th while both U10 and U8 were 5th.

Men's B Finally!

Men's B team finally won their first match of the season by beating Aquila A 1-0 on Monday's night. A short corner deflection by Alex Kong in the second half boost the team up and kept their opponent at bay until the final whistle. This win create pressure to our Men's A team who still without a win since the season start.

Khalid's revised suprised leaders!

A second half revised shot by Khalid Hussain suprised Premier League leaders Pakistan Association A and help Shaheen A to a 1-1 draw yesterday at King's Park. We were one goal down just minutes before the first half whistle and after some re-structure in our attacking. We forced could couple of good move up in the front. Around 15 minutes in second half, Khalid received a lose ball inside the circle. He took a hard revised shot, straight towards the Pak Assn. goal and sound the board.This is the second draw for our Men's A team and still without a win.

2008 Sichuan Fund Raising Accounts Audited

The accounts of last year Sichuan Fund Raising Accounts is now finally audited due to various reason for the delay. The raised amount was $106, 295.80 which was sent UNICEF.

Ladies B Team won Recreio Centenary Plate

Shaheen Ladies B team won the Recreio Centenary Plate on Sunday by beating Recreio B on penalty flicks after 70 minutes of goaless draw. Hero on the flicks were goalkeeper Peppi who saved 3 flicks. Well done girls and this is the second silverware for Shaheen as Men's B team won the Recreio Centenary Bowl earlier.

Summer Program Ends With Pride!

Shaheen Summer Program ended yesterday with pride! We work with The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (NAAC) in assisting low-income families children to play hockey free, thanks to those who sponsored and supported us to make this comes true. NAAC sent over 25 children for the program, yesterday we also invited them to take part in our Mini Hockey Development Program which will start on 19th Sept 2009 and end May 2010.

Noble got 10A!!

Shaheen Ladies D team player Noble Mak (left) was one of the 13's student who got 10A in the HKCEE which was announced on Thursday. Noble played for our Ladies D team for 2 years, also in our  Summer Hockey Development 2008 and she also the captain of DGS hockey team. Well Done Noble!!

Asghar Named For Torch Bearer

After Farooq Saeed of Men's A team being named as Torch Bearer for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Asghar Ali (Sanachi) was named 2009 East Asia Games Torch Bearer which was announced on Thursday. Asghar who represented for Hong Kong in many international tournament such as Asia Games, Asia Cup, AHF Cup, HK-Macau Interport and various HK hosted tournament. In the announcement, there was 65 Torch Bearer including athletes, district council members, sponsors partner, youth group, EAG volunteers and EAG Theme Song singers.

This year Shaheen Sports Club Annual Dinner and Awards Presentation will be at Nathan Room, 1st Floor, Eaton Hotel, Yaumatei and all 192 seats are reserved. 2009 Summer Development Program Started

Same as the previous two summer holidays, Shaheen Summer Development Program started again on Tuesday (14th July). This year we are more focusing on skills, team-work, foot-work, game reading and discipline and we are looking for new players for further development in order to have a stronger youth team next season.

Summer Training Started!

Shaheen summer training program started 4th July at King's Park and both training (4th & 11th) attracted over 80 players attended, allow more of our players getting knowing each other. During the hockey season, normally we didn't have time to chat with each other, we saw laughing, jokes and fun during the last two training. Even the pitch was packed, the atmosphere was great!

Farooq Honoured by Chief Executive!

In the Honoured List published in the Government Gazette on July 1st 2009, our Men's A team player Farooq Saeed was award 'Chief Executive's Commendation for Community Service'.  The Chief Executive has accorded awards to a total of 444 persons in this year's Honours List which included Farooq. Farooq also one of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Torch Bearer in Hong Kong last year. Well Done again Farooq!

Highest Goals in Choi Hung!

In a practicee game during yesterday's training at Choi Hung set the highest goals ever in our training - 33 - 9!  It was a 45 minutes game. Pictured shows the winning team (back) with victory sign but the losing side (sitting) seems no confidence to face the camera. Men's B Confirmed Promotion!

After staying 3 years in 3rd Division, our Men's B team confirmed in promoting to 2nd Division next season and aiming reaching 1st division in 2 years time. They are the 1st runners-up of the 3rd division and confirmed a place for promotion. In their last game on Sunday, our boys beat Recreio B 1-0 to complete the season. Well Done Boys!

Salute To Our Seniors!

In the last game of the season, both of our senior players Asghar and Farooq each scored a goal to complete the season. Asghar and Farooq not only contributed to Shaheen for many years but also to Hong Kong hockey. They represent Hong Kong in many international tournament such as Asia Games, East Asia Games and now they are coaching Mini Hockey. Ex-Shaheen player, Nawab Din (B-Gor) retired from international hockey at the age of 43 and surely, Asghar and Farooq will still have years to come before hanging their sticks. Ladies D Team Created Biggest Win!

In the last game of the season, the biggest surprised came from Ladies D team! They beat Swire Hall 8-0 to complete the season and this was the biggest win so far our ladies team. Some of the girls played hockey less then a year with a few for couples, with this win they all full of confidence to get better result in the coming season. Well Done Girls....Keep Going!

Triple for Men's A

Men's A team beat HKFC A 4-3 in yesterday's last game of the season. Three times our boys were a goal down, with well team-work and determination of winning, our boys overcome and won the game. Healthy, Akbar, Farooq and Asghar each sound the board once to help Shaheen's winning. Men's A team not only defended both Rabobank Holland Cup and Premier League, in addition, they also won the Perrier-Jinnah Hockey Tournament 2009.

17th Times Champion for Men's A Team!

Shaheen Men's A team beat Valley A yesterday 6-2, this win help them winning the title 17th times and earlier they also won the Rabobank Holland Cup. This is the 8th times for winning the doubles. Beside the doubles, they also won the inauguration of the Perrier-Jinnah Hockey Tournament 2009, meaning it's a triple for them. Healthy Wong scored a hat-trick while Farooq, Ken and Frankie each scored once.

Rains Washed Out Training!

Sudden rain washed out our first Hard Rock Hockey at Choi Hung yesterday's night and was disappointed by those who turned up for trainings. We have booked Choi Hung for trainings also in June every Wednesday from 7pm-9pm. Let's keep our fingers crossed in the coming training with good weather.

Hockey Clinic Successfully Held!

On Saturday (9th May) morning at King's Park, Shaheen hosted the Hockey Clinic supported by P&D Section of HKHA which  attracted over 60 children attended. The children were very happy to have a closed contact with Miss Minke Booij, captain of Holland Ladies Hockey Team who won the 2008 Beijing Hockey Goal Medal. Beside Mini Shaheen there were also children from KCC, Kai Tai, HK Sikhs and some school children came to join this clinic. Souvenirs were given to Minke in appreciation for her contributions, Shaheen's stick-key chain and wrist-band were given to all non-Shaheen children for their support to this clinic.

Shaheen Retain Rabobank Holland Cup!

Shaheen Men's A team beat KCC A 5-1 yesterday in the final of the Rabobank Holland Cup. Our boys were 2-0 up in the first half but KCC shocked us in the early started of the second half with a quick goal. But after quick settle down and putting more pressure up-front and created many opened spaces that help to win the game. Goal scorers for yesterday were Lu Peng, Healthy Wong, Swalikh Mohammed, Sky Chung and Karamjit Singh. This Friday's 8.30pm evening at HKFC, our Men's A team will meeting HKFC A and a win will help them to move closer to the doubles!

Shaheen Host Hockey Clinic

Beijing Olympic Gold Medals Holland Team Captain Miss Minke Booij will be coming to Hong Kong this weekend. Hong Kong was awarded during the 2008 Live The Dreams program run by FIH. The other winning nation were New Zealand, Malawi, Chili and Poland. Shaheen is proud to be invited to host a hockey clinic this Saturday (9th) at King's Park Hockey Ground from 9am-10.30am and of course, Miss Booiji will be there to do some skills performance, chat with the kids and Q&A. Men's A March In Holland Cup Final!

Men's A team will be defending the Holland Cup next week as they beat Pakistan Assn. A team yesterday in the semi-final. They will be meeting KCC A in the final as they easily beat SSSC A 5-1 in the other semi-final. Lei Kwok Hung (pictured) scored both goals in the first half and couple of chances were wasted in the second half that could increase the margin.

End To Racial Discrimination in Sports!

Recently, one of our player were abused by his opponent in a hockey game in racial discrimination way. We already reported to the HKHA and hopefully, they will take further action. We also reported this incident verbally to the Race Relations Unit of Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau and an official complain will be lodge shortly. They guaranteed us that they will follow-up the case. We don't want to see this happen and if any of our players received the same again, please make report to your captain and we will take action. Please remember that hockey and like any other sports, must play in a harmony and no racial boundaries way.

Men's B Almost!

Men's B team moved closer in promoting to 2nd Division next season with two good wins. They beat Dragons A 5-1 on Friday and Dutch B 6-1 yesterday. They are now six points clear with 3rd position Police A but 5 points behind leaders KCC D, with one more winning they will secure their position for promotion. Ringo's Hat-Trick Help Men's B Win!

On Friday's (17th), Men's B team beat Elite B to keep marching on for their promotion to 2nd Div next season. Ringo (pictured) scored a hat-trick to help the boys to a 3-2 win. Men's B team is now in second position of 3rd division with 3 games in hand against same point Police A. We all support them to promote to 2nd Division next season, do also remember to keep supporting them in the remaining games.

Weeken Men's A Over Comed!

Without Howard, Fei, Hung, Asif and Frankie, our Men's A team playing under Beatles song 'We Shall Over Come!' and bounced back after 0-1 down against Pakistan Association A in the early start of the game on Sunday, to win 6-3. Fielding 3 Men's B team players, Majid (in goal), Sam and Ringo, our boys didn't gave up any chances. Skipper Swalikh (pictured) scored 2 goals while Lu Peng, Asghar, Healthy and Leong all sounded the board once to help the team took the complete points. HKFC A still leading on the table with 7 goals difference and same points with our lads.

Mini Shaheen Did It Again!

Under 10 of Mini Shaheen shines again! They won the U10 Division 2 champions on Saturday during the HKFC Spring Mini Hockey Tournament. Team from KCC, Valley, Shaheen and host HKFC took part in this tournament. Mini Shaheen were 2nd in the U12 of KCC Mini Hockey Tournament which was held last month at KCC. Well done lads!

Doubles For Ladies B!

Shaheen Ladies B team won the 3rd division champions last weekend after beating Recreio B ladies in their last league game by 4-1. This was the 2nd trophies for them as they won the Recreio Centenary Plate earlier of the season and is the 3rd silverware for our girls, Shaheen Ladies won the exhibition game at the Perrier - Jinnah Hockey Tournament 2009 last weekend. Shaheen Won Perrier-Jinnah Hockey Tournament
Shaheen Men's team won the Perrier-Jinnah Hockey Tournament 2009 yesterday at King's Park by beating SSSC 2-1 in the final and collected $15,000. Earlier, Shaheen Ladies team beat Elite Ladies team on penalty shoot-out in the ladies exhibition match to collect $5,000 and Shaheen total collected $20,000 altogether. The tournament was sponsored by Perrier, Consulate General Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Pakistan Association HK and this is the first time to have cash prize money in Hong Kong hockey. Perrier - Jinnah Hockey Tournament 2009
The 1st Perrier-Jinnah Hockey Tournament will be held at the King's Park Hockey Ground on 21st and 22nd March 2009. The event is sponsored by Perrier, Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Pakistan Association is supported by the Hong Kong Hockey Association.

Participated teams are all premier division teams, Shaheen Sports Club, Hong Kong Football Club, Pakistan Association of Hong Kong, Kowloon Cricket Club, Valley Rugby Football Club, Khalsa Sports Club, Singh Sabah Sports Club and the first division team Elite Sports Club. They divided into two pools and each pool will have 4 teams. It is a 9-a-side tournament and will be the first one in Hong Kong with cash price for the winners, runner-ups and all the participating teams.

An exhibition match between 2 ladies teams, Shaheen Ladies and Elite Ladies, will be held on the final day, Sunday 22 March.

Cosmopolitan Interviewed Suet

The interview took place during one of our training over Chinese New Year in February and was published in the March Issue. Suet represent Hong Kong at many international tournament such as East Asia Games, Asia Cup, Asia Games and Asia Games Qualifying over the past years. Oh Mini Shaheen!

Mini Shaheen took part in the KCC Mini Hockey Tournament yesterday at Cox's Road and claimed one 2nd Place and one 3rd Place. Our U12 lost 0-1 in the final while our U10 claimed 3rd in the placing. This was the best result since Mini Shaheen stared last September after participated in a few tournaments. Thanks to all hard working coaches. The tournament itself was well organized while KCC Mini Hockey committee should take all credit as they created a great day of hockey for the future hockey stars!

Men's A Beat HKFC A in Holland Cup!

Shaheen Men's A team (defending Champions) beat HKFC A in a closed and exciting game yesterday 4-3 at Club's home ground in the first round of Holland Cup. All goals were scored in the 1st half of the game. Our boys were 2-0 up, (Fei and Asghar both the scorer) in the early stage of the game but Club came quickly and scored two quick goals to level the game. Fei scored again to allow Shaheen took the lead again but Club again level within 5 minutes. Asghar scored the winning goal just minutes of the first half whistle. Shaheen move to the next round and after the game, our boys went to Tai Pai Tong to celebrate their winning!

Game Studies during Quadrangular Hockey Tournament

Shaheen host it's first Game Studies Course during the 3rd Quadrangular Hockey Tournament which was held last week. Three games was selected for the course, Hong Kong v Air India, Chinese Taipei v Hong Kong and Hong Kong v Chinese Taipei. The course include out-letting, managing space, leading, team-work, marking, creating space, options etc. Over 20 players attended the course, their feedback was very positive and we are planning to host a few more similar courses during the season.

Solid Defence Helps Air India Winning!

Tournament favourite Air India won the 3rd Hong Kong Quadrangular Hockey Tournament by defeating defending champions Guangdong 1-0 while Hong Kong lost to Chinese Taipei on penalty shoot out after a 4 all draw in full time in the 3rd-4th placing match. The final was almost like China vs India as both team has couple of national and ex-national players and attracted a packed King's Park Hockey Ground. Air-India scored in the early stage of the game and their defence should received full credit for winning the title. Guangdong had many breakthrough and chances to sound the board but the Air India defence kept them at bay. Hong Kong almost took the bronze medal as they were once leading Chinese Taipei 4-2, but the local boys fitness pay the price by allowing the Taiwan team come back, to equalized and took home for the bronze medal.

FIH Vice-President meets Shaheen's Girls!

FIH Vice-President Mrs. Annabel Dillon is in Hong Kong for a private visit and also attended the 75th Hong Kong Anniversary Hockey Tournament on 27th Dec. Two of our ladies players Jacqueline Kwan and Eva Marie interviewed Mrs. Dillon during the tournament, watch out for the report of the interview which will be posted in our website soon!

Men's A Remains Top

Shaheen Men's A team beat title contender Pakistan Assn. A 2-1 in a closed and excited game yesterday at King's Park. This important win help our boys remains on top of the Premier League with one goal difference as HKFC A easily beat Valley A 4-1. Pak. Assn. A scored 1-0 in the second after a goalless draw in the first half. Fei equalized soon, while Leung steal the points to score the winning goal with only 4 minutes left. Before the game started, both team line up for a one minute silence for the victims who died in Gaza!
